India banned the popular mobile game Player unknown’s Battlegrounds, better known as PUBG, along with 117 other Chinese origin apps. The decision came amid increased tensions between India and China.
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has banned 118 more Chinese apps including one of the most popular mobile games PUBG Mobile. The official press release stated that all of these apps have been “banned under section 69A of the Information Technology Act”. The government said that it has “decided to block 118 mobile apps since in view of the information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the state and public order.”
The popular battle royale game was pulled from both app stores- Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, after the Indian government passed the order which banned both PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite.
PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular mobile games in India with millions of downloads and daily active users. India is a massive market for PUBG Mobile and the game publisher Tencent Games, which is a major stakeholder lost over $34 billion after the ban order was passed.

After banning the popular, addictive gaming app along with 117 other apps, Prime Minister ’s ‘’ mission seems to have moved a step ahead. Bollywood actor on Friday announced the launch of ‘’- a multiplayer action game.
Its name FAU-G stands for Fearless And United-Guards.
The Kesari actor said that this game will help players learn the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and 20 per cent of net revenue will be donated to ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ trust.
The game holds some real scenarios relates to Indian Security Forces operations regarding domestic and foreign threats. However, this game is expected to launch at the end of October.
